Integrity is something we have to fight for and choose daily. This is because we continuously face pressures that are trying to force us to compromise our integrity. If we are not diligent, the weight of those pressures will drive us to make excuses to justify poor choices. The unfortunate reality is that whatever we compromise to get, we will have to continue to compromise to keep. The good news is we have the power to choose integrity in every situation. When we purposefully choose to operate in integrity, everything gained will be enjoyed with a clear conscience.
Have you ever just been moving along through life, minding your own business, when something happens that throws a wrench in everything? Like, it just comes out of left field, and makes you take a few steps back to figure out what in the world just happened? We all have, right? Almost immediately, we begin searching for clues to help us understand how this wrench was able to cruise through so easily and create havoc in our world.
Never let someone get you off your game. There will be people who feel like they can speak things into your life, and say things about you that you know to your core are not true. They will try to define you through the lenses of their own distorted perspectives, and try to make you agree with what they see when looking at you. If you know yourself – truly know yourself, then reject those false images. Reject those definitions that go directly against who you are as a person. Recently, I had someone very close to me say to me that I was argumentative and difficult to get along with. However, the reality was they just could not accept what I was saying to them. It had nothing to do with me and everything to do with how they saw themselves in relation to me. We cannot control how others see us. We can, and should, do our best to put our best foot forward and do what we know is right. However, never let anyone push you down in the mud, redefine your character and make you feel like you are not the person you thought you were. Reject those sneaky innuendos and low-key slights. Be confident in who you are and keep moving forward.
The situationship epidemic has gotten out of control. At first, it was kind of funny and I laughed at the idea because, well, it’s laughable. However, for reasons common sense cannot explain, a situationship has become a real thing that women are embracing. Sadly, I can hear the rising cheers and celebrations of commitment-phobic men across America because women have finally bought the false bill of goods they’ve been pushing for years.
